Witnesses tell violence faced by Fikriye Özbek

Witnesses told what kind of violence Fikriye Özbek had faced during the second hearing of trial opened against her. The prosecutor demanded aggravated life imprisonment for Fikriye Özbek and she remains in prison.
News Center- Fikriye Özbek, who was arrested for killing her husband Hakan Özbek because of violence against her, appeared before the judge for the second time. Witnesses were listened to during the second hearing. The witnesses said that Fikriye had been subjected to violence by her husband for years. But despite the statements of the witnesses, the court decided to keep Fikriye in prison.
Many lawyers including lawyers of Adana Bar Association Women's Rights Commission and members of the Adana Women's Platform followed the hearing held by the 1st High Criminal Court in Adana province of Turkey. The prosecutor demanded aggravated life imprisonment for Fikriye Özbek on a charge of deliberate homicide in the death of her husband.
Witnesses talked about the violence faced by her
The witnesses confirmed that Fikriye Özbey had been subjected to violence for years. But despite the statements of the witnesses, the court decided to keep Fikriye in prison. The hearing has been postponed to March 6, 2021.
