Statement for killed co-chair Seide and her deputy Hind

Kongra Star issued a written statement for co-chair Seide Feysel El Hermas and deputy co-chair Hind Letif El Xidir, who were abducted and killed by unidentified people in Hasekê city of Rojava- NE Syrian on Saturday. In the statement, the incident is condemned and it is noted that such attacks have damaged the atmosphere of trust and stability in the region led by women.
News Center- On January 23, 2021, Seide Feysel El Hermas, municipal council co-chair of Til Sheyir town of Deşişa district located in the south of the city of Heseke in NE Syria-Rojava, and the municipal council deputy co-chair Hind Letif El Xidir were abducted and killed by unidentified people. Yesterday, Kongra Star Coordination, NE Syria- Rojava Women’s Movement, issued a written statement about abduction and killing of two women.
Kongra Star pointed out that Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, and other women working for common life and struggle have been targeted and killed by powers that don’t want stability to be built in the region. And Kongra Star condemns the incident.
“They were active women”
In the statement, Kongra Star emphasizes that Feysel El Hermas and Hind Letif El Xidir were active women in the society and that they struggled against the ruling, oppressive male mentality. The statement says,
“The women took an active role in society. They fought against the ruling, oppressive male mentality. Inhuman attacks are being carried out against our women's resistance, which is known all over the world. This attack, like the other attacks, targeted the will of women. The ongoing attacks have targeted the democratic and free life being built on the basis of the fraternity of peoples.”
The Kongra Star calls on all women living in NE Syria-Rojava to be sensitive against such attacks.
