Women targeted in Afrin for 3 years

Center for Research and Protection of Women’s Rights in Syria has prepared a report on rights violation faced by women after the attacks of Turkey and Turkish-backed groups. 66 women were killed, 149 women were abducted, says the report.

News Center- Center for Research and Protection of Women’s Rights in Syria has prepared a report entitled, “Crimes against Humanity” committed by Turkey and Turkish-backed groups in Afrin. The report includes serious violations of rights in Afrin in the last years.
The report states that about one million people were forcibly displaced after the attacks on Afrin, Girê Spî (Tell Abyad) and Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ayn) cities. The report notes that more than 60 percent of the displaced people are women. Turkish-backed groups confiscated people’s properties, 66 women were killed, more than 149 women were abducted, and 178 women were subjected to torture and abuse, says the report.
The report also states that:
·  On January 28, 2018, a 55-year-old woman died in Cindirêsê (Jindires) due to artillery fire.
·  On November 19, 2019, the body of a young woman was discovered in the village of Kani Gewrikê Afrin’s Cidirêsê town.
·  On August 15, 2018, Nurdin Zengi armed group abducted women named Xedîce Meskîl (50), Cînan Tane (26), Mîdye Tane (20), Cîhan Tane (17) in Hikice village.
The report says that 564 people were subjected to violence and that there is no news about abducted women.
