3 family members killed in landmine explosion in Syria

One woman and her two children were killed and her husband and another daughter were injured in a landmine explosion near Khan Al-Sheih, Syria’s Rif Dimashq province, on Wednesday.

One woman and her two children were killed and her husband and another daughter were injured in a landmine explosion while their car was near Khan Al-Sheih, Syria’s Rif Dimashq province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based monitoring group, reported on Wednesday.

According to the monitoring group, the family of five, originally from Idlib province, were travelling when the explosion occurred.

Since early 2025, 495 civilians, including 141 children and 32 women, have been killed and 538 others, including 239 children and 14 women, injured by explosions of war remnants across Syria.
