Emine Şenyaşar’s sit-in protest enters its 29th day
Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed, has held a sit-in protest for 29 days demanding “justice”.
Riha -Emine Şenyaşar’s two son and husband were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız and her son Fadıl Şenyaşar was wounded in the attack but he was arrested just after being discharged from hospital. Last week, Fadıl Şenyaşar was sentenced to 37 years and nine months in prison. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse for 29 days demanding justice.
“Our struggle for justice in front of Şanlıurfa Courthouse continues on the 29th day. We are waiting for a one-sentence statement from the Minister of Justice. A crime against humanity was committed at Suruç State Hospital. Authorities keep covering up the incident,” says the family's tweet.
