Art events in Algeria to mark International Women’s Day

Algerian women have held art events such as concerts, live performances, film screenings, and a festival to mark International Women’s Day. The events will last until March 10.

Algeria- Today, Laplace magazine will publish articles and interviews about women's art, femicides in Algeria, and women’s struggle against femicide to mark International Women’s Day. Meanwhile, the first women’s films festival has been launched in Oran.

Journalists Jacqueline Perino and Emine Moussa will publish the second issue of the semi-annual “I and she” magazine. The issue will focus on arts and society in the five Maghreb countries, in order to “unify and make the voices of Maghreb women heard”. Today, the Algerian National Theater Mahieddine Bachtarzi will host the Spanish performance of the duo Elena Jadel and Marta Robles entitled “Las Mujeres de mi vida, The Women of my life.”

International Women's Day will be celebrated in Oran. The first women’s film festival will be held at the French Institute in Oran between March 9 and 10. The films of Algerian film directors Yasmine Chouikh and Zulekha Taher will be screened at the festival.
