Afghan women never give up

“We, as Afghan women, will never give up” is the message of the Afghan women to mark International Women’s Day. Nazia Ahmed is one of these women. She calls on all Afghan women to unite against the Taliban.

Kabul- Since the Taliban's takeover of the country, the living spaces for Afghan women have been getting narrower day by day, but despite all the pressures, women give a very clear message to the Taliban: “We, as Afghan women, will never give up”.

Nazia Ahmed, a former school principal in the Parwan Province of Afghanistan, lost her job after the Taliban took the control of the country. “We, as Afghan women, will never give up,” she told NuJINHA even if she has faced many difficulties.

Noting that Afghan women use every opportunity to make their voices heard and break the pressure, Nazia Ahmad said, “After the Taliban took the control of the country, I lost my job. I have faced financial problems actually all women in Afghanistan have faced financial problems. Since the Taliban came to power, they have used all methods to intimidate Afghan women. But Afghan women resisted and continue to resist against oppression. As Afghan women, we should unite to make our voices heard.”

Emphasizing that the first victims of the changes in Afghanistan in the last 40 years have always been women, Nazia Ahmad said, “First of all, we, as Afghan women, must learn how to stand on our own feet. Stand on our own feet together.”

“We should organize ourselves”

“All Afghan women should be educated. We, as Afghan women, should organize ourselves to be free. We must organize and wage an organized struggle to fight for our rights, against the Taliban. If we don’t do anything, the Taliban will give us nothing. We should unite and struggle together,” Nazia Ahmad said and wished a happy International Women’s Day to women all over the world.
