9,989 people killed in Syria since fall of Assad, report says
9,989 people have been killed across Syria since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8, 2024, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

News Center- 9,989 people were killed across Syria from December 8, 2024 to August 6, 2025, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based monitoring group, said in a report on Thursday.
7,449 civilians, including 396 children and 541 women, were among the killed people, according to the report.
The casualties documented by the monitoring group are as follows:
December 2024: 2,354 people, including 1,894 civilians.
January 2025: 1,122 people, including 679 civilians.
February 2025: 603 people, including 435 civilians.
March 2025: 2,644 people, including 2,069 civilians.
April 2025: 452 people, including 352 civilians.
May 2025: 428 people, including 295 civilians.
June 2025: 391 people, including 360 civilians.
July 2025: 1,733 people, including 1,225 civilians.
August 2025 (Until August 6): 162 people, including 140 civilians.
