More than 83,000 Diplaced and 72 killed in Labanon Since Escalation Began

On March 2, amid the ongoing war between Iran and Israel-United States, Hezbollah began launching rocket strikes toward Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response Israel initiated airstrikes on several areas across Lebanon.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the toll from the Israeli escalation has risen to 72 people killed and 437 injured since dawn on Monday. Meanwhile, more than 83,000 people have been displaced due to Israeli escalation ordes. Authorities also recorded 403 attacks in recent days, with injuries continuing to arrive from heavily bombarded areas.
Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Haneen Al-Sayed stated that the number of displaced people registered in shelters has reached 83,847, noting that 399 shelters have been established across various regions.
At the same time, Israeli forces expanded evacuation warnings to include all residents of southern Lebanon, urging them to leave the area and move north of the Litani River. During this period, Beirut’s Disaster Risk Management Unit documented 403 hostile acts against Lebanon since the escalation began.
At dawn on Monday, Hezbollah targeted a military site in northern Israel with rockets and drones in response to Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon and the assassination of Ali Khamenei, carried out as part of a continuing U.S.–Israeli offensive against Iran since last Saturday.
The current attacks come amid an escalation that has been ongoing for more than a year. Since October 2023, Israel’s war on Lebanon has killed more than 4,000 people and injured nearly 17,000, eventually escalating into a full-scale war in September 2024.
