410th day of sit-in protest: “The persecution continues in front of the courthouse”

“The persecution continues in front of the courthouse,” the Şenyaşar family says on the 410th day of their sit-in protest demanding justice for their killed relatives.

Riha - The sit-in protest, also known as “Justice Watch”, started in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 410th day.

On the 410th day of their sit-in protest, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from their home in the district of Suruç in the morning and began to hold their protest in the area called “Şenyaşar Family Justice Corner” by holding their banners.

Today’s social media post of the Şenyaşar family says, “Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid. All the facts about our case have been revealed. The persecution continues in front of the courthouse because the Chief Prosecutor openly takes sides. Despite everything, we will not lose our faith in the justice system.”
