Egyptian parliament passes bill banning child marriage

The Egyptian parliament has passed the draft bill banning child marriage in the country.

News Center- In Egypt and many other countries, girls are married before they reach the age of 18. While the victims of child marriage suffer from many psychological problems, they are left alone under too a heavy burden to carry at a very early age.

Yesterday (April 12), the Egyptian parliament passed the draft bill banning marriage under the age of 18. According to the passed draft bill, the marriage of persons under the age of 18 cannot be approved. The instigators of child marriage will be sentenced to more than one year in prison and fined more than 50,000 pounds (about $2,720).
