Iraqi Journalist Expresses Solidarity with the Resistance of Women in Rojava

Iraqi journalist Afrah Shawqi expressed her full solidarity with the resistance shown by women in the regions of Rojava, condemning the silence of the international community regarding the violations being committed.

News Center — Amid the escalation of attacks targeting the regions of North and East Syria by jihadists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, women’s voices from different countries are rising to affirm their support for the resistance of women in Rojava.

Iraqi journalist Afrah Shawqi, who resides in France, sent a message of solidarity with the women of Rojava through our agency NUJINHA. In her message, she stated:

“From France, I express my full solidarity with strong and courageous women who today are facing the most brutal forms of threat, violence, and displacement.

The entire world must not remain silent in the face of this ordeal that women are going through. Solidarity is not merely a phrase we repeat; it is a stance that urges all peoples with a living conscience to put an end to the violence targeting women.

What women in Kobani are facing today could be what we face tomorrow. We must stand with them, express our firm rejection, and condemn the silence of the international community regarding the violations being committed. Our solidarity today extends to all components of North and East Syria. I stand against the acts of genocide committed by armed groups that have resorted to violence and fighting instead of dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
