Colorful celebration for Çarşema Sor in Shahba
The displaced Yazidis of Afrin, who live in Shahba, celebrated Çarşema Sor in Shahba. “Yazidism is an identity, culture, history and resistance.”
News Center- Yazidis living in the Shahba Canton gathered in the Maretê village of Shahba’s Ehdas district yesterday to celebrate Çarşema Sor (English: Red Wednesday), Yazidi New Year.
Wearing their traditional clothes, the Yazidis celebrated Çarşema Sor. Singers from Afrin such as Rêzan Bekir, Mihemed Welîd and Meryem Mihemed and two musical groups named Koma Veger a Efrînê and Koma Shengal took to the stage.
