At least 14 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since dawn on Monday, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

In a post on the social media platform X on Sunday, the World Food Programme (WFP) called for the opening of more safe routes for humanitarian aid to reach all residents of the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to ensure that truck routes and humanitarian aid distribution points are free of any military activity.

Pointing to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the WFP called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. “A sustained ceasefire in Gaza is urgent and would create the necessary conditions for safe, scaled, and impactful humanitarian aid to those who need it most.”

At least 57,418 Palestinians have been killed and 136,261 others injured in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
