Mahabad - Farzaneh Mohammadzadeh learned Karate, one of the martial arts when she was a child with the support of her mother. She is now a Karate instructor in the city of Mahabad and teaches young women how to defend themselves.

Farzaneh Mohammadzadeh told us that she started learning Karate with very limited opportunities, but she was determined to learn it with the support of her mother. She grew up in the city of Sardasht, far away from all opportunities to learn this art. Despite everything, she made great efforts to improve herself in this art.

“I was born and grew up in the city of Sardasht. I studied English Literature and Language at the University of Tabriz. I have worked as a Kyokushin Karate instructor for a year but I am also interested in volleyball, skating, athletics, fitness, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. My biggest achievement is the awards received by my students,” she told us.

Speaking about how her journey in Karate started, Farzaneh Mohammadzadeh said, “My interest in sports increased, even more, when I was chosen for the sportive activities at school. Despite the impossibilities, I tried to improve myself in sports. Self-defense is important for everyone, particularly for women. While I teach women how to defend themselves, I also teach them a philosophy; life does not just consist of pink or black colors but also thousands of colors.”

“If you focus on what you want, you will overcome all obstacles”

“We have only a life; we shouldn’t feel sad about what we don’t have, we should focus on what we want and make effort to have it. If you focus on what you want and work hard, you will overcome all obstacles,” Farzaneh Mohammadzadeh said and called on young women to “First set a goal for yourselves and do your best to achieve your goal.”
