Golshifteh Farahani to head Deauville Film Festival jury

Iranian-French actress Golshifteh Farahani will head the 51st Deauville American Film Festival, annually held in Deauville, France.

News Center- The Deauville American Film Festival has chosen Iranian-French actress Golshifteh Farahani to preside over its 51st edition which will take place between 14-23 September 2025.

“Deauville Film Fes­ti­val is extreme­ly proud to wel­come her as President of the Jury for its 51st edition,” the film festival said in a statement on its website.

“Golshifteh Farahani has embraced so many causes and so many daring figures on screen that she has become a symbol and standard bearer for women’s freedom, but it’s body and soul that she plays out her life with intensity every day.”

The festival has eight members of the jury: Director and screenwriter Thomas Cailley, actress Eye Haïdara, writer and director Katell Quillévéré, actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, actor and film director Vincent Macaigne, choreographer and director Benjamin Millepied and director, screenwriter and animator Emilie Tronche.
