A Turkish court has ordered the release of journalist Elif Akgül, who was detained in Istanbul on February 21 as part of an investigation launched into the People’s Democratic Congress (HDK).

Istanbul- A Turkish court has ordered the release of journalist Elif Akgül, who was detained in Istanbul on February 21 as part of an investigation launched into the People’s Democratic Congress (HDK).

The court reportedly ordered the release of the journalist following an appeal by the Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA)

Journalist Elif Akgül is expected to be released from Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison today.
