Joint statement by AANES and Syria’s interim government

The first meeting between the delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the delegation from Syria’s interim government was held on Sunday. Both parties agreed upon four issues.

News Center- The first meeting between a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and a delegation from Syria’s interim government was held on Sunday to discuss the agreement signed by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syria’s interim government on March 10, 2025.

Following the first meeting, a joint statement was issued, stating that the both parties agreed on four issues. According to the statement, another meeting will be held as soon as possible to complete the discussions and follow up on the implementation of the agreement.

Both delegations discussed the importance of accelerating the implementation of the March 10 agreement, establishing joint subcommittees and the importance of education, the statement said, stressing that the first meeting was held in a constructive and responsible atmosphere.

The issued agreed upon by the parties are as follow:

1-The formation of specialized subcommittees to monitor the implementation of the March 10 agreement, signed between Syria’s interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, and the SDF commander, Mazloum Abdi.

2-Resolving outstanding issues related to examinations and exam centers, in a way that ensures students’ rights and the integrity of the educational process.

3-Discussing mechanisms to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their areas and the removal of obstacles hindering this return.

4-Reactivation of efforts to address the situation in the neighborhoods of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud, with the aim of promoting stability and civil peace.

Another meeting

According to the statement, another meeting will be held in the near future to continue discussions and follow up on the implementation of the agreement.
