Political prisoners in Evin prison protest death sentence for Warisha Moradi

A group of women political prisoners held in Evin Prison protested the death sentence handed down to activist Warisha Moradi.

News Center- On Monday, a group of women political prisoners held in Evin Prison protested the death sentence handed down to Warisha Moradi, chanting slogans such as “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” and “Kurdistan will be a graveyard for fascism”.

On November 10, Warisha Moradi, a Kurdish political activist, women’s rights defender and member of the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR), was sentenced to death by Branch 15 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court on charges of “rebellion.”

Warisha Moradi was arrested by Iranian security forces in August 2023. She was subjected physical and physiological torture for months. In October 2024, she held a 20-day hunger strike in Evin prison to protest the death penalty in Iran.
