Platform for Kurdish Women’s Unity formed
24 women’s organizations and political parties in Kurdistan have formed the “Platform for Kurdish Women’s Unity”.

News Center- 24 women’s organizations and political parties in four parts of Kurdistan have formed the “Platform for Kurdish Women’s Unity”.
‘The only thing needed is to build national unity’
“The design of the world system during World War I resulted in the establishment of nation states in the Middle East and the division of Kurdistan into four,” said a statement released by the platform. “A century later, we have entered a design process that resulted in the dissolution of nation states. What led this change is the struggle for freedom that our people, who have faced occupation and genocidal attacks for a century, have fought in all four parts by paying a heavy price. The Kurdish people’s determination for freedom and their endless struggle have failed the genocidal and occupying system. During the World War I, the Kurdish people received promises to have a state, like many other nations. However, they could not have a state because they did not unite. Therefore, they were divided in four parts and denied by the Treaty of Lausanne. The only thing needed for the Kurdish people is to build national unity.”
Call on women’s organizations
In the statement, the platform called on all women politicians, women's movements and organizations in Kurdistan and the diaspora to be members of the platform. “Let’s build national unity based on freedom, equality and patriotism together. No struggle or politics in Kurdistan can be successful without national unity. Kurdish women and the Kurdish people must achieve national unity now; otherwise, we will keep facing the occupation and the loss of our gains.”
The platform also called on all political parties and organizations to unite. “National unity also means developing Kurdish democracy. We call on everyone to build national unity and make sacrifices for it. As Kurdish women and men, we deserve to have a free and equal life in unity, like all free nations.”
