SOHR: At least 17 women, girls kidnapped in Syria

At least 17 women and girls have been kidnapped in different cities of Syria, including Lattakia, Homs, Al-Suwaydaa, Tartous and Hama, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a Britain-based monitoring group, reported on Tuesday.

News Center- Following the fall of the Assad regime, an interim government led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was formed in Syria. Since then, people have been subjected to many rights violations, including kidnapping.

In recent days, the number of kidnapped women and girls in Syria has been on the rise.

At least 17 women and girls have been kidnapped in different cities of Syria, including Lattakia, Homs, Al-Suwaydaa (Sweida), Tartous and Hama, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a Britain-based monitoring group, reported on Tuesday.

“17 girls and women of different areas were reported missing in different circumstances as some of which were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen and others are missing for unknown reasons,” the monitoring group said.
