Wan — The recent period has witnessed an escalation in military tensions between Iran on one side, and the United States and Israel on the other, directly impacting the countries of the region, including Kurdish areas. expanded its military operations to include the Kurdistan Region, in addition to Gulf states.

However, since the beginning of the war, Iran and its affiliated armed groups have targeted the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan Region with dozens of missiles and drones.

On July 17, border areas in Hewlêr (Erbil) were subjected to five drone and missile attacks, though air defense systems managed to shoot them down. On the same day, the headquarters of political parties associated with East Kurdistan in the Rezgarî area of Sulaymaniyah were attacked by drones. The missile and air strikes resulted in the deaths of nine Peshmerga fighters at the Komala military camp.

Laleş Bejîmelî, a secretariat member of the National Unity Platform for Kurdish Women, stated that the Iranian attacks targeting the headquarters of Kurdish political parties in the Kurdistan Region and East Kurdistan underscore the urgent need to achieve Kurdish unity, especially as" all four parts of Kurdistan" have turned into an arena for wars and conflicts due to attacks by surrounding states. She emphasized that achieving Kurdish unity has become a pressing necessity to face these challenges.

She explained that the attacks by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the Kurdistan Region exploit the absence of Kurdish national unity, stating: "This shows that the time has urgently come to achieve Kurdish unity in all fields."

She affirmed that confronting what she described as "attacks" can only be accomplished through joint struggle: " Unity strengthens us and weakens those who seek to harm us. and strengthens us. Unity is the only solution for the Kurdish peopleTherefore, we say we are not four parts; rather, we are one people. Any attack that occurs in Rojava, East Kurdistan, or the Kurdistan Region must be considered an attack on us all, and we must act to confront it. Any injustice inflicted upon any part of Kurdistan is an attack on the entire Kurdish people."

Laleş Bejîmelî called on all Kurds, particularly women, to strengthen solidarity among themselves, noting that the Kurdish people have been subjected to policies of oppression and massacres at the hands of various states for years. She stressed that the ongoing the Peace and Democratic Society Process. cannot be separated from the importance of achieving Kurdish unity, affirming that the Kurdish Women's Unity Platform believes in women's ability to play a fundamental role in making this unity a success.

In conclusion, she stated: "The process is passing through a sensitive stage, but we believe that unity is the sole remedy for many of the problems facing the Kurds today. The success of the peace and democratic society process in North Kurdistan could serve as a model for resolving crises in the rest of the Kurdish regions. We have great hopes for this process.
