News Center- Iranian authorities continue to use executions following unfair trials or for charges, such as drug offenses.

The National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) published Wednesday a comprehensive report on the executions carried out in the country in the Iranian year 1403 (March 21, 2024 – March, 20, 2025). 1,153 people were executed in 94 prisons, a 42% increase compared to March 21, 2023 and March 20, 2024, the report said.

961 of these executions (83%) took place in Iran during the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian, 38 women and seven minors were among the victims of the executions, according to the report.

“While the regime’s policy of warmongering has suffered irreparable blows and it feels the imminent threat of uprising and overthrow, it has drastically accelerated the pace of executions and killings,” said Maryam Rajavi, the president of the council. “The international community must condition any dealings with the godfather of executions and terrorism on the cessation of torture and executions, refer Iran’s human rights violations file to the UN Security Council, and bring Khamenei and other regime leaders to justice.”
