Riha-Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have been detained on the 22nd day of their sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding “Justice”.

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar went to the Urfa Courthouse to keep their protest. Police forcibly took them into custody without showing any reason.

“Detain the killers, not us,” said Emine Şenyaşar while she was being detained.

What happened?

On June 14, 2018, the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız killed Emine Şenyaşar’s husband Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar her sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar and wounded Fadıl, Ferit, and Mehmet from the same family in the Suruç district of Urfa province during the campaign for the General Election held on 24 June 2018 in Turkey. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have staged a sit-in protest known as “Justice Vigil” for 22 days demanding justice for their killed relatives.
