Narges Mohammadi urges UN to give special attention to Iran’s violations
Nobel Laureate Narges Mohammadi has sent an open letter to UN bodies, urging them to give special attention to “the Islamic Republic’s use of execution, assassination, murder, and enforced disappearance of its opponents through agents.”

News Center- Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian human rights activist and Nobel laureate, has sent an open letter to UN bodies on executions, assassinations, and disappearances of opponents in Iran over the past 46 years.
In the letter, Narges Mohammadi recalled that a court in the United States recently convicted two individuals on all charges, including murder-for-hire, illegal possession of firearms, and conspiracy to launder money, in connection with a plot to assassinate Masih Alinejad, an Iranian-American journalist and political activist.
“Documenting these assassinations and attempts to kill dissidents is essential for a peaceful democratic transition and for ending 46 years of theocratic and misogynistic religious tyranny.”
She also urged UN bodies to “give special attention to the Islamic Republic’s use of execution, assassination, murder, and enforced disappearance of its opponents through agents.”
