Another important aim of the forum is to take steps in order to bring the Democratic Nation Project into effect and to provide solutions to the problems faced by women.
Kongra Star Democratic Relations and Alliances member Rûken Ehmed spoke to NuJINHA about the program and aims of the Middle East Women’s Forum.
Women from Middle Eastern countries will attend the forum
Speaking about the aims of the Middle East Women’s Forum, Rûken Ehmed said that they are planning to hold the forum to mark the tenth anniversary of the July 19th Revolution, known as the Rojava Revolution, together with Kongra Star and seven other women’s organizations in order to promote the women’s revolution in the Middle East. “Our aim in holding such a forum is to promote the women’s revolution in detail. Delegations and people all around the world visit us to learn more about our experiences. We want to hold this forum with the participation of women from Middle Eastern countries because we have a common cause. We do not want our revolution to be a revolution only for the women of the region but also for all women in the Middle East. We think our revolution is the legacy of all women and that this success is the success of all women. Women face common problems. Our primary duty is to promote it. We expect the online participation of many women from Middle Eastern countries since the ongoing conflicts and clashes will prevent them from participating in a face-to-face forum,” she told us.
The forum’s program
Rûken Ehmed gave us information about the program of the forum as follows:
“The forum will last two days, on July 22-23. The forum will consist of five sections. Three persons will make presentations for each section. We will also organize workshops during the forum. The most important issue that will be discussed during the forum will be the political situation in the region and in the world and its effects on societies. In addition, the women attending the forum will discuss the achievements of the ten-year-old revolution in Rojava, the difficulties experienced by women. The participation of all women living in North and East Syria will be welcomed. Since we have been going through a period of threat and danger against the women's revolution, we will organize a section to discuss how we can strengthen our struggle against the ongoing threats. The threat of ISIS continues in our region. We want to start a project with the participation of women to eliminate this treat and make our voices heard all around the world. Although our political views are different, we know that women share the same happiness and sadness. We will share our revolutionary experiences and discuss how women can benefit from them. Our fifth section will be about how to strengthen our relations with women of the Middle East. The most important topic of the forum will be the Democratic Nation Project, which will be an answer to all problems faced by women.”
They will visit women’s organizations and institutions
Indicating that women of the Middle East will continue to visit women’s organizations and institutions after the forum, Rûken Ehmed said, “They will see what kind of projects we have been carry out.”
