Kobani’s Mirgan Hajji Shines at World Weightlifting Championship with Four Medals

Young athlete Mirgan Hajji from Kobani won three gold medals and one silver at the world Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Championships in South Africa.

News Center_ Young athlete Mirgan Hajji, from the city of Kobani in Rojava, secured three gold medals and one silver in the Under-18 category at the World Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Championships, held in Sun City, South Africa.

Mirgan Hajji is participating in the World Championships organized by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) from August 18 to 29, with the participation of elite athletes from around the world, competing in the Junior Under-18 category.

During the competitions held yesterday, Tuesday, August 18, the young athlete achieved outstanding results in powerlifting events, adding four medals to her tally—including three golds and one silver—an achievement reflecting her athletic development and ability to compete in one of the most prominent international powerlifting championships.

This achievement follows a series of participations and results Mirgan Hajji has achieved in recent years in regional championships, where she drew attention with her performances and results before moving on to compete at the international level.

Her arrival at the World Championships and winning four medals in the Junior category marks a significant milestone in her athletic career, and also strengthens the presence of young athletes from the region in international competitions.
