A man threw acid into a female teacher's face and fled the scene at a school in Iran’s Karaj city on Thursday.

News Center- A man entered a school in Iran’s Karaj city Thursday afternoon, threw acid into a female teacher’s face and fled the scene. After the incident, police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
The victim told police that the man, who had thrown acid, was her husband. Police arrested the suspect while he was trying to escape. At the police station, the man confessed that he had decided to throw acid due to family disputes.
This incident once again shows that many women in Iran are most vulnerable to intimate partner violence due to the lack of laws protecting women from gender-based violence.
Women activists in Iran say that impunity for sexual and gender-based crimes poses a serious threat to the safety of women.
