Hostage and prisoner exchange after Gaza ceasefire takes effect

News Center- The Israeli attacks started in the Gaza Strip on October 7,2023 ended after a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel took effect on Sunday. Hamas released three Israeli hostages on Sunday while Israel released 90 Palestinian prisoners, 69 women and 21 children.
Early on Monday, the Red Cross buses carrying 90 Palestinian prisoners arrived in the occupied West Bank town of Beitunia, where they were met by excited crowds. Israeli soldiers attacked the Palestinians gathered to welcome the freed 90 Palestinian prisoners by using tear gas and stun grenades.
Khalida Jarrar, a Palestinian politician and a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) is among the freed 90 Palestinian prisoners. The hostage and prisoner exchange on Sunday is the first phase of the ceasefire.
