DEM Party Women’s Council announces November 25 event program

The Women’s Council of the DEM Party reaffirmed its commitment to the feminist struggle for justice and equality, calling on women to actively participate in its month-long program of empowering events.

NEWS CENTER - The Women’s Council of the Party for Equality and Democracy of Peoples (DEM) announced its program of events marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, under the slogan “Together for Equality and Freedom Against Violence!”

Throughout November, cities across Turkey and Northern Kurdistan will host a series of activities — including meetings, seminars, panel discussions, press statements, and mass marches — to shed light on violence against women and strengthen feminist solidarity.

The program includes:

November 14 – İzmir: Visit to striking women workers with Women’s Council spokesperson Khalida Türkoglu, followed by a press statement launching the campaign for November 25.

November 17 – Kocaeli: Women’s meeting on “Women’s Labor and Poverty” with Khalida Türkoglu.

November 18: Roundtable discussion on “Women’s Work and the Budget.”

November 19: Press statement condemning violations of women prisoners’ rights and sentence postponements.

November 20 – Êlih (Batman): Women’s meeting on “Women’s Labor and Poverty” with Khalida Türkoglu.

November 22 – Dilok (Gaziantep): Women’s meeting with DEM Co-chair Tülay Hatimoğlu.

November 22 – Wan (Van): Participation in a women’s panel organized by KESK Women’s Union.

November 25:

National Women’s Parliamentary Meeting with participants from Adana, Mersin, Konya, and Ankara.

Gever (Hakkari): Protest march against state violence, militarism, and guardianship policies, attended by Khalida Türkoglu.

Amed (Diyarbakır): Mass women’s march led by women’s organizations, political party representatives, and DEM spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan.

Between November 14–25, the Women’s Council will also organize various community events, including home visits, neighborhood meetings, women’s gatherings in public parks, awareness workshops on violence, and solidarity visits to the families of murdered women and unresolved femicide victims.

The Council reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the feminist struggle, calling for the strengthening of equality, freedom, and solidarity to confront all forms of violence against women
