Call from Emine Şenyaşar to bar associations

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who have staged a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for 105 days, asked for support from 81 bar associations in Turkey.

News Center- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and two sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province just before the general elections held on June 24, 2018, has held a sit-in protest demanding justice with her son Ferit Şenyaşar since March 9. Their sit-in protest has entered its 105th day today.

The Şenyaşar family visited Antep Bar Association, political parties, and NGOs in Antep province for two days. Today the family came in front of the Urfa Courthouse to demand justice again. The family has held a placard reading, “A mother has held a sit-in protest in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse demanding justice for 105 days. Her husband and two sons were killed at the hospital. No lawsuit has been opened because a member of parliament involved in the massacre.”

Call on bar associations

The family posted a tweet today to call on bar associations in Turkey. “11 bar associations have already promised us legal support for the hospital massacre case. Our goal is to get the support of Turkey's 81 provincial bar associations. We will not sit at home until we secure justice. Our struggle in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse continues on its 105th day.”
