Body of Yazidi woman sent to Shengal

Yazidi woman Baran Hasan Rasho was killed by a man named Serkan Ö. in the Midyat district of Mardin Province. The body of the Yazidi woman was sent to Shengal today.

 
News Center- On August 6, a Yazidi woman named Baran Hasan Rasho was killed by a man named Serkan Ö. in the Midyat district of Mardin Province. The body of the woman was taken by her family to Shengal. 
Her father Hasan Rasho Ali, who lives in a European country, came to Midyat to take his daughter’s body from the morgue of Midyat State Hospital. The father, who was welcomed by a Yazidi group in Midyat, went to the Midyat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and filed a complaint.
“Baran was killed by the mentality of ISIS”
A group of women, including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Feleknas Uca, members of the HDP Women’s Council and Free Women’s Movement (TJA) met the family in front of the morgue. Hasan Rasho Ali made a short speech there. “Baran was killed by the mentality of ISIS,” he said in his speech. HDP Mardin Co-chair Perihan Ağaoğlu also wanted to make a speech; however, police didn’t allow her. The women shouted “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Women, Life, Freedom)” slogan to protest police. 
HDP MP Feleknas Uca made a statement in front of the morgue; however, police didn’t allow the people to take footage. “Rasho fled from ISIS. She was killed by the same mentality in the country where she took refuge. We condemn the murder,” Feleknas Uca said in the statement.
Body of Baran sent to Shengal
After the speech and statement, the body of Baran was sent to Shengal. Baran will be laid to rest in Shengal.
