Investigation launched against journalists for commemorating two journalists killed in Syria
An investigation has been launched against four journalists in Türkiye for commemorating Cihan Bilgin and Nazım Daştan, two Kurdish journalists killed in a Turkish drone strike on December 19, 2024.

News Center- Four journalists have been summoned to testify in Türkiye for attending a press conference held in Amed (Diyarbakır) on December 20, 2024 to commemorate Cihan Bilgin and Nazım Daştan, two Kurdish journalists killed in a Turkish drone strike in northern Syria on December 19, 2024.
The Dicle Fırat Journalists’ Association (Turkish: Dicle Fırat Gazeteciler Derneği, DFG) Co-chair Selman Çiçek, Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Heval Önkol and journalists Dilan Kartal and Hevidar Önver were informed that an investigation had been launched against them on charges of “opposing the Law on Demonstrations and Marches No. 2911”.
According to the reports, Selma Çiçek and Heval Önkol testified at the Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department in Diyarbakır and Dilan Kartal and Hevidar Önver will testify tomorrow.
