Hearing of journalists Sadiye Eser and Sadık Topaloğlu adjourned
The hearing of the trial opened against journalist Sadiye Eser and MA reporter Sadık Topaloğlu was held today. The hearing has been adjourned to November 18.
Istanbul- The 5th hearing of the trial opened against Mesopotamia News Agency (MA) reporter Sadık Topaloğlu and journalist Sadiye Eser on terror related charges was held by the Istanbul High Criminal Court. Sadık Topaloğlu didn’t attend the hearing while Sadiye Eser and the journalists’ lawyers Sercan Korkmaz and Mahmut Erol attended the hearing. Witness Özgür Baran, who testified against Sadiye Eser and Sadık Topaloğlu, did not attend the hearing.
Next hearing will be held on November 18
During the hearing, lawyer Mahmut Erol demanded the acquittal of journalists. Lawyer Sercan Korkmaz demanded the lift of the travel abroad ban imposed on Sadiye Eser and Sadık Topaloğlu. The court rejected the demands of lawyers and adjourned the hearing to November 18.
