Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival kicks off in Ankara

The 27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival kicked off at the Ankara Opera House with the award ceremony on May 9.

News Center- The 27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival kicked off at the Ankara Opera House on Thursday with the theme “More is More, Not Less: Remember the Flight”.

At the award ceremony, the Flying Broom Women’s Film Festival Honorary Award was given to actress Hatice Aslan, the Bilge Olgaç Honorary Award was presented to actress Tülin Özen, film director Ayşe Polat and film producer Nida Karabol and the Young Witch Award was presented to actress Deniz İlhan.

Films to be screened at Kült Kavaklıdere Movie Theater

At the festival, many films will be screened at the Kült Kavaklıdere Movie Theater until May 16. In addition to film screenings, panels and discussion will take place at the festival.

The jury of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) will review the films. After the announcement of the winner, the festival will end on May 16, 2024.

The Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival is an annual Ankara-based film festival celebrating women's contributions to filmmaking.
