Yemen- Yemeni Enf Foundation for Human Protection kicked off five-day psychological unloading activities and expressive drawings for survivors of gender-based violence in the Marib governorate of Yemen on December 4 as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign. On the first day, 60 women participated in the activities. We spoke to Haifa Al-Ahsami, the director of the foundation, about the aim of their activities.

Their aim is to provide psychological support to survivors

Underlining that the aim of their activities is to provide psychological support to the women survivors of gender-based violence, Haifa Al-Ahsami said, “The activities are funded by the United Nations Population Fund. Most of the women who participated in the activities are survivors who stay in women’s shelters and safe houses. They have been economically empowered. Some of them left safe houses and have jobs. They earn a livelihood now. Some of them still stay in safe houses. We have organized programs and activities for them as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign.”
