Women to hold march in Qamishlo against Turkish attacks

Kongra Star Spokesperson Remziya Mihemed has announced that a big march will be held in the city of Qamishlo on May 5 against the ongoing Turkish attacks on the region.

Qamishlo- The ongoing attacks carried out by the Turkish state in the Kurdistan Region and NE Syria continue to spark protests. Women are on the front lines of these protests. They will hold a big march in the city of Qamishlo, NE Syria, on May 5 to make their voices against attacks heard all around the world. Speaking to NuJINHA, Kongra Star Spokesperson Remziya Mihemed calls for participation in the march.

“The march will be a response to attacks”

Emphasizing that the ongoing attacks pose a threat and danger to the entire region and Kurdistan, Remziya Mihemed said:

“In all parts of Kurdistan and in the free mountains, Kurdish freedom fighters are waging a great resistance against the attacks of the occupying Turkish state. The aim of the occupying Turkish state is not only to occupy the region but also to commit genocide against the Kurdish people. Our people, all organizations, and groups hold protests every day to show their stance against the ongoing attacks. A big march is planned to be held in the Cizîre Region against the attacks. We believe that our people will give a response to these attacks by resisting.”

“Our attitude towards the attacks will be determined by our resistance”

Announcing that they will hold a big march on May 5, Remziya Mihemed stated that all institutions, organizations, and groups in the region are expected to participate in the march. “This march will be held in the city of Qamishlo, NE Syria. Our attitude towards the attacks will be determined by our resistance. Our people will show that they always stand with the freedom fighters and that they will support them to the last drop of blood.”

“Our action will also salute the resistance of the fighters”

Calling for participation in the march, Remziya Mihemed ended her speech by saying, “The people of the world should take a stance against these attacks because civilians are killed and forcibly displaced every day. As the Preparatory Committee of the march, we call on everyone to participate in the march. Our marches and actions will also salute the resistance of the fighters. The resistance of the people and the fighters complete each other.”
