“We light the torch of justice,” says Şenyaşar family

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest demanding justice for 91 days. They expect support from everyone.

Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in an attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, survived the attack, have held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for 91 days.

The family held their sit-in protest at home due to weekend lockdowns in Turkey. Today they went in front of the courthouse to hold their protest. “We risk death, we are determined; we will bring justice. Health problems of my mother increase. She also refuses any treatment. She will accept treatment if justice is secured. We stand firm thanks to solidarity. We expect sensitive people to support our struggle,” Ferit Şenyaşar said.

The family also announced that they will keep holding their protest in front of the courthouse for five days and two days at home.

“We light the torch of justice in front of Şanlıurfa Courthouse. Nothing should be left in the dark. The perpetrators of every incident that you do not punish get stronger to keep persecuting. Let’s stop this cruelty in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse,” says the tweet posted by the Şenyaşar family.
