Visit from families of Suruç to Emine Şenyaşar: We stand by each other
“We stand by each other in the struggle for justice,” said Dilek Şeker, one of members of Suruç’s families, who visited Emine Şenyaşar holding a sit-in protest demanding justice for her killed husband and two sons for 80 days.
Riha – The sit-in protest held by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, has entered its 80th day. The families of 33 young people, who were killed in the Suruç bombing carried out by Daesh, arrived in Urfa to participate in the 19th hearing of the Suruç Trial. The families and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa MP Ayşe Sürücü visited the Şenyaşar family today. “Those who carried the massacre shouldn’t go unpunished. There is no justice. We have held the sit-in protest for three months but those who killed my children walk freely in Suruç. The killers are free,” said Emine Şenyaşar to the families.
“We stand by each other in the struggle for justice”
Dilek Şeker, daughter of İsmet Şeker, who was killed in the Suruç bombing, made a speech on the behalf of the families. “We are in Urfa to participate in the 19th hearing. She (Emine Şenyaşar) lost her husband and children like us. Who killed them? Who killed my father? The bloody-minded state killed them. And they still follow us. Where is justice? They (Şenyaşar family) have left their children at home to hold their protest for 80 days. We demand justice for Suruç, for everyone. We stand by each other in the struggle for justice.”
After the visit, the families of Suruç entered the courthouse to participate in the hearing to be held by the Urfa 5th High Criminal Court.
