Kobanî – Thousands of people living in the Euphrates region of the NE Syria held a march called, “March for Dignity against Occupation and Betrayal” at Jina Azad (Free Women) Square in Kobanî yesterday on June 13 to protest occupation attempts. The people confirmed their support to Asayish forces and said that the fate of Turkish occupation will be the same of the fate of ISIS.
People continue to protest the attacks of Turkey on NE Syria. Yesterday, thousands of people living in the Euphrates region flocked to the streets to show their solidarity with the Asayish forces. Members of the NGOs, Kongra Star, the committee of families of martyrs, young women’s force, the Democratic Union Party, and citizens gathered at Jina Azad (Free Women) Square in Kobanî to protest Turkey’s attacks on NE Syria.
Walla Ali, from Tell Abyad town of northern Syria, is one of the women who joined the march. She said, "Today, we are here to confirm our support for the resistance and struggle of our forces in the face of the fascist Turkish occupation.”
“The Turkish occupation is not satisfied with targeting our areas and forcibly displacing people, and it continues its brutal attacks on the lands of the Kurdistan region, with the aim of achieving its dream of reviving Ottoman Empire,” Walla Ali added.
Walla Ali stressed that they will keep protesting to show their support to their forces against the barbaric attacks of Turkey.
Emphasizing that the participation of the Kurdish, Arab and Syriac people in the march was a clear message to all countries of the world, Walla Ali noted that the coexistence and cohesion among the components of the region cannot be undermined, “With our unity, we cleared our region from ISIS and this march is a confirmation showing that the fate of the Turkish occupation will be same with the fate of ISIS.”
Media Hassan, originally from Ain Issa, is another woman joined the march.”Turkey has launched its daily attacks on Ain Issa and its villages with the aim of undermining the will of its people, forcibly displacing them from their lands and homes, and creating a state of instability,” said Media Hassan, adding;
“The people of NE Syria will continue to be determined and to resist these attacks, which aim to break our strong will that built on the fraternity of the peoples in the regions. The Turkish state has failed to occupy areas in the northern and eastern Syria; today it launches its attacks against the people of the Kurdistan to break their brave resistance. The attacks target all the people of the region and try to break their unity of free will.”
Emphasizing that the Turkish will not reach its goal, Media Hassan said, “Today, we are marching from the center of Kubani to show our solidarity with our forces responding to attacks day and night in order to defend our gains and our revolution. Turkey will not be able to break our will.”
Turkish has attacked NE Syria since April 23. On June 5, Turkey attacked Makhmour Refugee Camp with a drone.
