Theater Festival in Van dedicated to Jina Mahsa Amini
The 3rd Theater Festival organized by the ŞanoWan theater group with the motto, “This day will pass, the spring will come” kicks off in Van. The festival is dedicated to Jina Mahsa Amini, who was killed by the Iranian regime.
The 3rd Theater Festival organized by the ŞanoWan theater group with the motto, “This day will pass, the spring will come” kicked off in Van last evening. A reception was held at the Perihan Shopping Center to kick off the festival, which will continue until September 30. The people wearing traditional clothes danced Kurdish folk dances while Dengbêj (Kurdish singer, storyteller) Usiv was singing.
Emotional moments during the first theater play of the festival
Theater player Perinaz Delazy made the opening speech of the festival. In her speech, she drew attention to the resistance of Emine Şenyaşar and said, “This festival is dedicated to Jina Mahsa Amini, who was killed by the Iranian regime.” After her speech, the first theater play of the festival called, “Life, I love you so much”, which tells the life story of writer İlhan Sami Çolak, who spent 30 years in prison as a political prisoner, was performed. The play tells of the state pressure in Bingöl in the 1990s. During the performance, the audience experienced emotional moments.
