The Young Women's Union in the Euphrates region of northeastern Syria held a workshop on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, accompanied by a 16-day campaign.

Kobani – Under the title "United Against Isolation and Violence Against Women," the Young Women's Union, which launched the "Let's Meet" campaign on October 8, held a workshop on Thursday, November 13, as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, within the framework of a series of activities for this campaign.

The workshop, which saw a large participation from women, youth, members of the Women's Protection Units, students, and members of the Star Conference, focused on two main topics: first, the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Öcalan, and second, violence and the struggle against it.

The program included a reading of Abdullah Öcalan's vision and assessments from his Peace and Democratic Society statement, as well as a documentary film about the history of November 25 and the struggle of women in northeastern Syria against violence. The mother of activist Şilan Kobani, Fatima Suleiman, who met with Öcalan in the 1980s, also shared her memories and experience of meeting him.

On the sidelines of the workshop, the spokesperson for the Young Women's Union in northern and eastern Syria, Beritan Roj, stated: "Our goal is to reach the level that leader Öcalan hopes for." She added, "At the level of the Euphrates region, as young women, we have worked within the framework of a series of activities for leader Abdullah Öcalan's campaign. The workshop also focused on the torture and isolation he has endured for many years, as well as the fight against violence against women, related to November 25 and the ways to struggle against it."

She clarified that Abdullah Öcalan himself emphasized that organized women have the ability to stand up, express their opinions, and show their presence. "Our struggle is also to reach the level that leader Öcalan has reached.
