Star Congress: 1,800 Letters from Women of al-Jazira Demand the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan
The Star Congress in the al-Jazira region revealed the results of the letter-writing campaign to Leader Abdullah Öcalan launched at the beginning of October. A total of 1,800 letters were collected, written by women to express their positions and demands.

News Center – The Star Congress affirmed that the recently organized activities come as part of rejecting the international conspiracy that targeted Leader Abdullah Öcalan, calling for opening legal and democratic avenues that would allow him to play his role in resolving the current crisis and establishing peace in the region.
The Star Congress in al-Jazira Canton announced today, Tuesday, October 10, the results of the campaign to write letters to Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which began on the first of the same month. Within the framework of this campaign, 1,800 letters were gathered.
The statement was read in front of the Congress headquarters in Qamishlo, where the spokesperson for the Star Congress in Qamishlo, Reyhan Temo, presented the details of the initiative, noting that the Star Congress has joined the campaign “I Want to Meet Abdullah Öcalan.”
The statement read:
“Qamishlo witnessed a series of activities in this context. The Star Congress organized marches and seminars expressing loyalty to the call for peace and a democratic society. The Peace Manifesto was read, and the opinions of the people were documented. Today, we have received letters from all women working in the women’s institutions and bodies in the region. These letters carry great hope for opening democratic and legal paths for Leader Abdullah Öcalan during this new phase, enabling him to play his role in saving the region from this crisis and establishing peace. Therefore, we call for struggle to open legal avenues for the leader.”
The statement affirmed that the activities and events come as a rejection of the international conspiracy that targeted Leader Öcalan, adding:
“We condemn the conspiracy and reaffirm our demand for the freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan until the end. We pledge to uphold our responsibility toward the call for peace and a democratic society,” calling on international institutions to fulfill their duty in achieving the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and granting him the right to hope.
