Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family continues on its 458th day
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse to demand justice for their murdered relatives for 458 days.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continues on its 458th day.
In the morning, the Şenyaşar family came in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest. “We have been sitting here for 458 days. My son Fadıl has been kept in prison for four years even if he is innocent. I will not leave here until justice is delivered. We have two demands; the release of my son and the arrest of all those involved in the massacre. Our demands have been met until now. We will keep sitting here until our demands are met,” Emine Şenyaşar said in front of the courthouse.
“The struggle of the mother, who be a hope for millions in terms of justice and the first person whenever justice is mentioned in Turkey, continues in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse on the 458th day,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account by tagging the social media accounts of theatre actor Müjdat Gezen, actress Nihal Yalçın, singer Aynur Doğan and Türkan Elçi, wife of assassinated head Diyarbakır Bar Association and human rights activist Tahir Elçi.
