Amed - Rosa Women’s Association has applied to the Turkish Council of State demanding the cancel of Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention. The association stated in the petition that the annulment of the Istanbul Convention by a Presidential decree is against the rule of law principles.

The decision is an unconstitutional decision

The association stated in the petition that the withdrawal decision is “null and void” because according to Article 104/17 of the Constitution, “No presidential decree shall be issued on the matters which are stipulated in the Constitution to be regulated exclusively by law.”
