Shengal- The Yazidi Youth Union and Yazidi Young Women's Union held a mass march in the Sertdeşt region of Shengal to protest Turkey’s occupation attacks. The people participating in the march shouted the “Fight for freedom against occupiers and traitors” slogan. The march started in front of a checkpoint of the YBŞ and ended at the Martyr Dilgeş and Martyr Berxwedan Cemetery.

 “We are also a part of this resistance”

Sara Botan read a statement on behalf of the unions and said in the statement, “The resistance in Zap, Metina, Avaşin and free mountains is a resistance beyond comparison. A great resistance is going on for the people in Southern Kurdistan. The aim of the enemy is to occupy Southern Kurdistan. As the Yazidi community, we see ourselves as a part of this resistance. For this reason, as the Yazidi community and Yazidi young people, we announce our support to the guerrillas. We will continue to launch a series of actions for the guerrillas to the end.”

In the statement, Sara Botan also condemned the stance of the UN and organizations that see themselves as human rights defenders.
