The murder of a female university student on a campus in Jordan sparks anger in the country.
News Center- A female student was shot and killed on a university campus in Jordan by an unknown assailant.
An assailant fired shots at a female at a university in the Jordanian capital, Amman, according to the statement released by the General Security Directorate. The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The victim has been identified as Iman Rashid, a 21-year-old nursing student at the Applied Sciences University.
The murder of the young woman sparks anger on social media under the hashtag #إعدام قاتل التطبيقية demanding the punishment of the assailant.
Following the shooting incident, the university issued a statement in which it vowed to bring the perpetrator of this “terrible crime” to justice. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family. May her soul rest in peace,” the university said in the statement.
The murder of Iman Rashid comes days after a female university student named Nayera Ashraf was brutally beaten and stabbed on June 21 in front of the Egyptian University of Al Mansura in broad daylight by a man.
