Mothers in Sulaymaniyah spoke to NuJINHA about the ongoing attacks on their region.

“We must unite against the occupation”

Rêzan Salih, a mother in Sulaymaniyah, told us that the situation in the Kurdistan Region has been deteriorating due to the occupation. “As the Kurdish nation, we love our independence and do not want anyone to invade our lands. Kurdish lands were always occupied in history, and for this reason, we do not want history to repeat itself and our children to be sacrificed anymore. The Kurdish people must unite against the occupation.”

“The achievements should be protected”

Pexşan Abdulkerim, another mother in Sulaymaniyah, stated that the aim of the invaders is to cause chaos to make the Kurdish people fight against each other, “There were also many Kurdish betrayers during the rule of the Baathist regime. Now, Erdoğan wants to annihilate the Kurds because we have rich lands.” Underlining that the world plays ostrich towards the attacks against them, Pexşan Abdulkerim said, “They remain silent to these attacks for their own interests. The Kurds should unite against these attacks now. They should push the government to take a firm stand against the attacks in order to protect their achievements.”
