Shahrizor- Turkey launched a ground and air cross-border operation in the territories of the Kurdistan Region on April 17 with the support of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP or PDK). People living in four parts of Kurdistan, Europe, and many parts of the world continue to take to the streets to protest and condemn the ongoing attacks. The women, who are at the frontlines of the protests, call on people to stand against the attacks.

The mothers living in Said Sadiq, a city in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate, also condemn the Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan region and the support of the KDP.

“The government should stand by us, not by the Turkish state”

Stating that the Turkish state attacks all Kurds at the same time, Bihar Salih said, “The Turkish state always attacks to occupy the Kurdish regions. It wants to occupy our region under the pretext of the PKK. The government should stand by us. Mothers hurt so bad in their hearts; their houses are being destroyed. How can we accept this? Our government works coordinately with the Turkish state. All the achievements of the Kurds are at risk. The government should stand by us not by the Turkish state and not allow the Turkish state to attack our region.”

“The government remains silent”

“Only the Kurds will suffer from the attacks of the Turkish state in our region. The government remains silent against these attacks,” Zeyneb Mehemed, one of the mothers living in the city of Said Sadiq, told NuJINHA.

Şemse Eli also condemned the ongoing Turkish attacks in the region and said, “If the territories of the Kurdistan Region are occupied, the achievements of the Kurds will also disappear. The government still remains silent against these attacks. How can the government remain silent after causing the attacks? The government should react to the attacks to protect the achievements of the Kurds.”
