News Center — Investigations continue into the death of university student Rojin Kabaiş, whose body was found in Lake Van in North Kurdistan weeks after she was reported missing, as judicial efforts persist to uncover the circumstances of the case.

The case of university student Rojin Kabaiş, which has drawn widespread attention in Turkey, has seen a new development with the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office decision to take DNA samples from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Rector Hamdullah Şevli and his nephew Enis Şevli.

This step came within the framework of ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Rojin Kabaiş, a student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University who was reported missing in Van on September 27, 2024.

After search efforts continued, Rojin Kabaiş's body was found on October 15, 2024, near the shores of Lake Van, bringing the search to an end, while judicial authorities continued to investigate the circumstances of the case and the events preceding her death.

In the latest development of the investigation, the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office decided to obtain DNA samples from Rector Hamdullah Şevli and his nephew Enis Şevli. According to available information regarding the case, samples have already been taken from the two individuals and added to the investigation file.
